Following my recommendations in this report, Dr. John Waiko, and his late wife Dr. Anne Waiko, noted PNG academics, were contracted to conduct oral histories in the Kokoda area, together with Deakin University.’ (Unfortunately, Professor John Waiko, famous Oro historian passed away recently.)
