Young Laurie in war time

Service:
Laurie enlisted and served as Laurie Siegle. He was posted to 2 NGIB 1944-46. Laurie served a brief time only in PNG because of illness and was discharged from 4NGIB.

Post War: Laurie and his wife Helve lived on the Sunshine Coast.
Helve was born in Estonia in 1932 and arrived in Melbourne as a teenage refugee after the War. She met Laurie in Victoria and they moved between Victoria and Qld as their family grew. In 1995 they settled on the Sunshine Coast. Helve’s health declined in recent years and sadly she passed away on 21 December 2018.
