Brisbane
Our Association was well represented at the main city march on ANZAC Day this year. Members marched proudly behind our banner which was carried by Sergeant Frank Wust’s sons in his memory. Our group was led by President Donald Graham.
We were delighted to welcome New South Wales members, John Morris from Bowral and Bob Strachan from Sydney. Their presence made for a very rich time of catching up and reminiscing.

Sydney
Greg Ivey attended the Sydney march and has sent this report:
It was very worthwhile and enjoyable to participate in the Association’s Sydney march and lunch.
Our 12 marchers included 8 servicemen, 3 of whom are current committee members. Four family members marched to honour their servicemen. The leader again was 95 year-old W.O. Jock Wilkinson (PIB, NGIB) who performed his role brilliantly.
Drinks and lunch followed at the Menzies Hotel and here the conversations flowed about PNG matters (both war-time and post-war). The 12 marchers were: W.O. Jock Wilkinson, Major Russ Wade, Peter Porteous, Wayne Bensley, Peter Wilkinson, Bob Pryke, Mrs Rogers (wife of W.O Hector Rogers, NGIB), Peter Jesser, Barry Rogers, Sam Wilkinson, Ayrton Rogers, Greg Ivey.

On 21 April this year, our President, Don Graham, attended the official launch of the KPMG Rotary Kokoda Beach Walk. This was held at the Cascade Gardens Memorial at Broadbeach. This 15 km walk (or run) will take place on August 14 and is a fundraiser for Legacy and Soldier On Australia.
Despite the appalling weather and the vagaries of Queensland Rail, there was a very good attendance at our Annual General Meeting (photo below).
